Parish School of Religon (PSR)
The Parish School of Religion assists families with the religious formation of their children enrolled in public or private non-Catholic schools. The program is designed to foster full and active participation in the life and mission of the Roman Catholic Church through experiences in prayer, scripture, religious study, and participation in the sacramental life of the parish. Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade Classes are held from 9:35 - 10:45 a.m. on Sundays from mid August - early May. See this document for details of our Youth Catechetical program.
Catechists transmit the Gospel to the faithful ; as such, the person of the catechist must be conformed to the person of Christ in order to faithfully hand on that Good News. The aim of a catechist is to lead our children to a deeper knowledge and love of Jesus and His Church so that they may form a firm commitment to follow Christ. Through their service the catechist nurtures and mentors the faith and spiritual growth of children. Anyone with a willingness to “echo the faith” will find the ongoing training and great materials a great help in their success as a catechist. Formation courses are offered for training candidate and experienced catechists interested in working with PSR.
All PSR Catechists are required to complete the Protecting God's Children program to promote a safe environment for our children.
